Changing the Law Experience

Starting with the highest standard of customer service from our responsive and supportive Benefit Services Team, to the most inclusive, unlimited, thorough legal assistance from the highest quality attorneys, HELP® is dedicated to changing the way we experience the law.

As worksites see an increased demand for legal services to complement their other voluntary benefits options, they focus attention on what employees really need in a legal plan. Worksites discover the superior quality and benefits of HELP® when compared to the other legal plans. Where they merely provide access to attorneys and firms as they have always existed, practicing law as historically practiced, relying on outdated service standards of the legal industry that have left consumers underwhelmed, dissatisfied, and disenchanted with attorneys and legal plans in general.

These plans are limited by time, topic, and complexity; are serviced by attorneys of varied quality and experience; and lack consistency of service. As a result, enrollees often experience unpredictable levels of service, where one enrollee could enjoy an experienced attorney on the same day their co-worker may be assisted by a less experienced associate.

These failings prompted the design and introduction of HELP®, a unique and incomparable product offering that has changed the law experience. HELP® realized there was opportunity to create a legal plan without such  limitations and focusing on quality and service unlike anything in existence.

HELP® provides fully comprehensive, unlimited coverage for all personal legal matters with no limits, restrictions, or hidden exclusions on topic, time, volume, or complexity. More than 95% of the time, enrollees of HELP® pay NO LEGAL FEES OF ANY KIND. Most importantly, every attorney must be PARTNER LEVEL, with a MINIMUM of 20 years of experience. Additionally, HELP® maintains a client management system so that every minute of utilization is centrally recorded and monitored to guarantee that promised coverage is being provided at all times, and to ensure swift problem resolution and responsive communication.

The Plan Back Next

Uniquely HELP®

The keys to understanding a great legal plan are to know how often enrollees pay legal fees out of pocket, how much the legal plan pays attorney fees on behalf of the enrollees, the quality of the plan attorneys, and how the plan tracks enrollee utilization.

Two items never discussed or answered by the legal plan industry are how often enrollees pay out of pocket and how much the plan pays their attorneys. Attorneys don’t work for free and must be paid by someone. If the legal plan isn't paying substantial legal fees on the enrollee's behalf, and therefore the enrollee is paying out of pocket, then the coverage must be lacking. Because regardless of their claims of robust coverage, these plans are not providing coverage where it matters the most and will be utilized the most.

We are never afraid to discuss these two items at HELP®. The unique goal of HELP® is to actually resolve a matter without charging legal fees, unlike the prepaid legal industry that assists with part of a matter, but invariably charges legal fees to complete and resolve an issue. Enrollees have paid out of pocket only 5% of the time on average over the past 20+ years. Said another way, 95% of HELP® enrollees never pay any legal fees, because the coverage focuses on what the enrollee needs the most, and the plan covers the legal fees associated with those needs.

It is also important to know the minimum qualifications for the attorneys who are servicing the plan. The industry standard is a mere minimum of 5-7 years of experience, which invariable leads to a concerning lack of consistency and quality. Even the most robust levels of plan coverage are rendered meaningless if being serviced by inexperienced attorneys. HELP® attorneys are partner level, with a minimum of 20 years of experience in their chosen field. No associates, paralegals, or law clerks are permitted to assist HELP® enrollees.

Additionally, HELP® maintains a client management system so that every minute of utilization is centrally recorded and monitored to guarantee that promised coverage is being provided at all times, and to ensure swift problem resolution and responsive communication. A unified system for monitoring actual minutes of plan utilization leads to efficient plan administration and timely problem resolution.

Uniquely HELP®

When evaluating a legal plan, it is important to understand how the plan attorneys are being paid, how much the legal plan is actually paying the attorneys, and how much is being paid to the attorneys out of pocket by the plan enrollees. Whenever a legal plan requires enrollees to pay out of pocket, it clearly indicates substandard coverage where it is needed the most.

The unique goal of HELP® is to actually resolve a matter to completion without charging legal fees. On average, HELP® enrollees only pay legal fees out of pocket 5% of the time. This one figure is the very best proof that HELP® truly provides the promised high levels of coverage.

However, even the most robust levels of plan coverage are rendered meaningless if being serviced by inexperienced attorneys. This is why HELP® attorneys are only PARTNER LEVEL with a MINIMUM of 20 years of experience in their chosen field. No associates, paralegals, or law clerks are permitted to assist HELP® enrollees.

To ensure the enrollees of HELP® are receiving the promised benefit services, the HELP® team  continuously monitors  attorney service, enrollee utilization, and overall plan satisfaction. Expert Evaluation

When evaluating legal plans, it is important to ask the following five questions:

  1. What percentage of enrollees pay legal fees out of pocket annually?
HELP® enrollees pay out of pocket only 5% of the time. The more enrollees are paying out of pocket, the less coverage actually being provided by a legal plan.
  2. What are the plan’s minimum qualifications for their attorneys?
HELP® attorneys are PARTNER LEVEL ONLY, with a MINIMUM of 20 years of experience in their field of expertise, with no associates or law clerks permitted to service the enrollees. If a legal plan doesn’t guarantee partner level service and only promises minimum “average” years of experience, then the consistency of attorney experience will drastically affect enrollee satisfaction with the plan.
  3. What is the median attorney response time and plan accessibility?
HELP® maintains a 24-hour maximum return call policy, however, most enrollees are connected with an attorney immediately. HELP® is available 24/7; including evenings, weekends, & emergency assistance. If a legal plan doesn’t require expeditious response time, or isn’t accessible all the time, then enrollees will become frustrated and won’t have access when they might need it the most.
  4. Does the plan have a tracking system to record each minute of service and utilization?
HELP® maintains HELP®Track™ for every minute of service provided to enrollees. If a legal plan does not maintain a tracking system, then it has no way of knowing whether the enrollee is being properly serviced, whether the attorney is handling the matter to its fullest extent without legal fees, and it would be very difficult for the plan to quickly respond to inquiries from HR professionals seeking to resolve an issue that arises.

Dedicated Team

HELP® Managers work directly with HR Professionals and Benefits Consultants to educate them on the plan and to manage each worksite from the first enrollment through utilization year after year. So, there will always be a level of comfort and consistency of working with experienced HELP® staff who are familiar to the worksite.

Each enrollee has access to a HELP® Advocate™, who is a senior client relations specialist designated to serve as a plan “concierge”. If an enrollee ever has a question or concern they would like to discuss, they simply ask to speak with a HELP® Advocate™ who will guide the enrollee through utilization of the benefit, navigate their use of the plan or legal process, assist with questions and concerns, and resolve any issues regarding their service, the attorneys, or the legal process. Quality Attorneys

HELP® attorneys are only PARTNER LEVEL with a minimum of 20 years of experience in their chosen field. No associates, paralegals, or law clerks are permitted to assist HELP® enrollees. All HELP® attorneys are highly rated and HELP® continuously monitors and oversees each attorney to ensure they are adhering to our high standards.

Other legal plans lack service and quality consistency, where one enrollee could enjoy the assistance of an experienced attorney on the same day their co-worker may be assisted by a less experienced associate. The  lack of requirements creates an inconsistent and lower quality service model which pales in comparison with HELP®. With HELP® every enrollee enjoys the same level of quality and experienced attorney service. Click to Continue

Unlimited Coverage

HELP® strives to provide maximum coverage where it is needed the most, regardless of time, geography, topic, or complexity. Over the past 20+ years, enrollees of HELP® have paid NO LEGAL FEES of any kind 95% of the time. HELP® streamlines its coverage by providing unlimited assistance for every legal matter that can be resolved pre-litigation, since that is what's actually needed and utilized the most. So the only time enrollees pay any legal fees are for those limited 5% circumstances when a matter requires attorney appearances and litigation, and those fees would be substantially reduced so enrollees would always benefit from the plan.

HELP® employs this model of coverage, because it means that enrollees receive the highest percentage of coverage where it is needed the most, rather than lists of benefits that are never utilized or needed.  Click to Continue

Comprehensive Benefits

HELP® enrollees receive unlimited services from a partner level attorney, with no limits or restrictions of any kind on topic, time, volume, or complexity. Unlike other legal plans, coverage extends to complex legal matters, and there are no additional fees for items such as identity theft and other popular uses of the plan. This model avoids questions about what legal topics are covered, because ALL personal legal topics are covered unless excluded by the worksite (such as labor matters).

For example, HELP® recognizes that fewer than 5% of all legal matters require litigation, which means that most legal matters require some kind of negotiation and settlements. Therefore HELP® INCLUDES all negotiations and settlements so a matter does not require litigation for resolution. And when the matter is completed, enrollees receive the ENTIRE SUM of any negotiated settlement under the HELP® plan. In addition, there are no deductibles, no co-pays, no underwriting, no claim forms, and no approvals. Enrollees do not have to sign an engagement letter, retainer letter, or contingency agreement to access the unlimited benefits of HELP®. There are also no hidden fees and no exclusions. Changing the Law Experience

The evolution of HELP® as a legal plan has irrevocably altered the legal plan landscape and completely revolutionized the industry.

As worksites experience increased demand for employee legal services to complement their voluntary benefit offerings, the need for substantially greater quality and coverage is now being highlighted more than any time in the history of legal plans. Worksites no longer settle for the old prepaid legal plans that appear to offer robust coverage, but lack consistent attorney quality and fail to provide coverage where it matters the most. There is no point in implementing a legal plan that promises coverage for topics rarely used, or providing inexperienced counsel to handle the legal matters actually being covered by the plan.

The outdated prepaid legal plan model merely provides access to attorneys and firms as they have always existed, practicing law as historically practiced, relying on historically dissatisfying service standards of the legal industry that have left consumers underwhelmed, dissatisfied, and disenchanted with attorneys and legal plans in general.

These failings prompted the design and introduction of HELP®, a unique and incomparable product offering that has changed the law experience. In stark contrast, HELP® provides fully comprehensive, unlimited coverage for all personal legal matters with no limits, restrictions, or hidden exclusions on topic, time, volume, or complexity. 95% of the time, enrollees of HELP® pay no legal fees of any kind. This means the coverage is being provided where it matters the most and where it will be utilized the most. Equally important, every attorney must be PARTNER LEVEL, with a MINIMUM of 20 years of experience. Additionally, HELP® maintains a HELP®Track™ system so that every minute of utilization is centrally recorded and monitored to guarantee that promised coverage is being provided at all times, and to ensure swift problem resolution and responsive communication.

HELP® believes it is truly changing the law experience.

Selecting a Legal Plan

Benefit consultants typically already understand the benefits of implementing some kind of legal plan, from reduced employee absenteeism to improved worksite productivity resulting from less stress. But selecting the ideal legal plan is an exercise in understanding the industry and differentiating from the outdated prepaid legal model. These are some key questions for evaluating a legal plan:

  1. What percentage of enrollees pay legal fees out of pocket annually?
HELP® enrollees pay out of pocket only 5% of the time. The more enrollees are paying out of pocket, the less coverage actually being provided by a legal plan.
  2. How many worksites terminated the plan last year? Five years? Ten years?
If legal plans are churning worksites and enrollees, then quality, stability, and/or reliability are lacking.
  4. What is the median attorney response time and plan accessibility?
HELP® maintains a 24-hour maximum return call policy, and HELP® is available 24/7; including evenings, weekends, & emergency assistance. If a legal plan, doesn’t require expeditious response time, or isn’t accessible all the time, then enrollees will become frustrated and won’t have access when they might need it the most.
  5. Does the plan have a database system to record each minute of service and utilization?
HELP® maintains HELP®Track™ for every minute of service provided to enrollees. If a legal plan does not maintain a tracking system, then it has no way of knowing whether the enrollee is being properly serviced, whether the attorney is handling the matter to its fullest extent without legal fees, and it would be very difficult for the plan to quickly respond to inquiries from HR professionals seeking to resolve an issue that arises.

Changing the Law Experience

The evolution of HELP® has altered the practice of law and forever changed the enrollee experience.

Historically people just don’t like attorneys. An attorney is the punch line to a joke. Clients complain about poor billing practices, limited accessibility, and dispassionate service.

HELP® is a game changer. Rather than the typical old legal plan that places enrollees in an attorney office and wishes them good luck, HELP® has created an environment where the experience will be completely different.

Can you imagine an attorney who is compassionate and responsive, timely and reliable, but doesn’t charge legal fees?!

With HELP®, an enrollee receives unlimited access to partner-level attorneys as part of their Unlimited Coverage. The attorney doesn’t charge any legal fees for any benefits as part of the Unlimited Coverage services regardless of time, topic, or complexity. Since time is unlimited, the enrollee can call as much as they like, for as long as they like, and the attorney will gladly assist them.

Accessing a HELP® attorney is far beyond any typical legal experience, because HELP® has implemented policies and procedures to ensure a completely unique contact and response structure.

When an enrollee calls for assistance with a new legal matter, they never have to wait more than 24 hours to hear from an attorney. These rules guarantee an enrollee will feel valued and receive assistance when they need it the most.

There is no confusing billing structure and no concern about the clock. Benefit attorneys will NEVER send a bill and will ALWAYS take your call.

In addition to the reliable and responsive attorney system, HELP®’s dedicated, educated, and experienced benefit services team is always readily available to assist enrollees in accessing plan coverage and attorney assistance.

HELP® team members are highly trained in understanding the legal process, legal matters, and attorney expertise. HELP® utilizes the knowledge of our experienced team members to match each enrollee with proper counsel, and therefore avoiding the pitfalls of blind selection associated with prepaid legal insurance plans.

All attorney service, enrollee utilization, and overall plan satisfaction is continuously monitored by highly trained HELP® team members to ensure each enrollee is receiving the promised level of coverage. Due to the heightened level of plan oversight, HELP® team members are able to provide streamlined access to the HELP® family of elite firms and attorneys.

HELP® believes it is truly changing the law experience.

Plan Enrollees Back Next

Uniquely HELP®

HELP® has consistently maintained high rates of worksite and enrollee retention through its unique systems, processes, requirements, and coverage.

One of the most significant attributes of any legal plan is the minimum experience qualification of the attorneys who are servicing the enrollees. The industry standard is a mere minimum of 5-7 years of experience, which invariably leads to a concerning lack of consistency and quality. That is why HELP® requires that all attorneys servicing our enrollees must be PARTNER LEVEL with a MINIMUM of 20 years experience. In addition, no associates, paralegals, or law clerks are permitted to assist enrollees with the benefit offerings of HELP®.

The unique goal of HELP® is to actually resolve a matter without charging legal fees, unlike the prepaid legal industry that assists with part of a matter, but invariably charges legal fees to complete and resolve an issue. To guarantee that each enrollee is truly receiving promised plan benefits, HELP® ensures the attorneys are properly compensated, and as a result, almost 95% of the time, enrollees of HELP® pay no legal fees of any kind. HELP® provides fully comprehensive, unlimited coverage for all personal legal matters with no limits, restrictions, or hidden exclusions on topic, time, volume, or complexity.

Monitoring and tracking all plan utilization is another important aspect of any legal plan to ensure heightened service and overall enrollee satisfaction. HELP® maintains its own enrollee management system, called HELP®Track™, which documents every single minute of utilization, from the moment of enrollment, through attorney service, to resolution of a matter. This unique system is the primary tool used by our dedicated benefit services department allowing HELP® to provide levels of service and assistance that far surpass the industry.

The enrollee experience is of the utmost significance for plan education, utilization, and satisfaction. Therefore each enrollee has access to a HELP®Advocate™, who is a highly trained senior client relations specialist. They are available to guide enrollees through use of the plan, address any issues or concerns, and help to maximize plan benefits. If an enrollee ever has questions or concerns they would like to discuss, they simply ask to speak with their HELP®Advocate™ who will guide the enrollee through utilization of the benefit, navigate their use of the plan or legal process, and resolve any issues or questions regarding their service, the attorneys, or the legal process.

The development of these systems and procedures has allowed HELP® to establish and maintain its consistency of partner level attorneys, robust coverage, and superior service experiences for all enrollees.

Accessing HELP®

Hands-on Assistance

In addition to contacting an experienced HELP® benefit services representative, all enrollees can request to speak with a highly trained and dedicated HELP®Advocate™. The HELP®Advocate™ will guide the enrollee through utilization of the benefit, navigate their use of the plan or legal process, assist with questions and concerns, and resolve any issues regarding their service, the attorneys, or the legal process. The HELP®Advocate™ specifically advocates on behalf of the enrollee, and therefore always defers to an enrollee’s needs and works diligently with them toward resolution.

When assisting an enrollee, the HELP®Advocate™ will gather detailed information from the enrollee, consult the HELP®Track™ database system, and then proceed to evaluate the need. HELP®Track™ is a critical component for managing HELP® service. The system allows for the tracking of: requests from enrollees, case data and overviews, and utilization rates for attorneys. Superior Service

HELP® is specifically designed to avoid all the pitfalls of blind attorney selection typically associated with the old prepaid legal plan industry. Our enrollees simply contact HELP®, briefly confirm their identity along with the nature, status, and geography of their legal matter, and are expertly paired with an elite partner level attorney HELP® team members are extensively trained to understand the legal process, vocabulary, attorney expertise, etc., so that each enrollee is perfectly paired with an attorney who will exceed their expectations.

Once paired with an attorney, enrollees enjoy unlimited access directly to counsel to assist with the legal matter. HELP® also maintains a 24-hour return call policy from all attorneys. HELP® also provides enrollees with 24/7 access to partner level, AV-quality attorneys, including evenings, weekends, and via afterhours assistance. HELP® attorneys are particularly accommodating to enrollees’ schedules and will schedule appointments during the evenings and weekends anytime requested. Click to Continue

Quality Attorneys

All HELP® attorneys are partner level with a minimum of 20 years of experience in their chosen field. No associates, paralegals, or law clerks are permitted to assist HELP® enrollees. All HELP® attorneys are highly rated and HELP® continuously monitors and oversees each attorney to ensure they are adhering to our high standards.

The old style prepaid legal plans often lack service and quality consistency because although one particular enrollee could work with an experienced attorney, on the very same day their co-worker may be assisted by a far less experienced associate level attorney. It is also rare that anyone from the legal plan has actually met the attorneys who service the enrollees, and often times the same attorneys are assisting other legal plans as well, creating confusion about coverage, billing, and other plan differences. This concerning lack of control and lackluster requirements create an inconsistent and lower quality service model which pales in comparison with HELP®.

Extensive research shows that only 5% of all legal matters require attorney appearances or litigation. Therefore HELP® streamlines its coverage by providing unlimited assistance for every legal matter that can be resolved pre-litigation, since that is what's actually needed and utilized the most. So the only time enrollees pay any legal fees are for those limited 5% circumstances when a matter requires appearances and litigation, and those fees would be substantially reduced so enrollees would always benefit from the plan. Comprehensive Benefits

HELP® enrollees receive unlimited services from a partner level attorney, with no limits or restrictions of any kind on topic, time, volume, or complexity. Unlike all other legal plans, coverage extends to complex legal matters, and there are no additional fees for items such as identity theft, credit protection, and other popular uses of the plan.

Enrollees do not have to sign any engagement letter, retainer letter, or contingency agreement to access the unlimited benefits of HELP®. There are also no hidden fees and no exclusions. HELP® keeps everything simple. Click to Continue

Dedicated Team

HELP® devotes substantial time and resources selecting those individuals believed to have the most opportunity and desire for a career with the company, rather than just a job.

Among our staff are administrators, consultants, and managers that serve as both highly educated benefit services representatives and as senior worksite enrollment specialists. All team members are required to partake in an extensive 12 month training program, along with monthly training seminars throughout their tenure with HELP®, as part of the HELP® University™ program. This allows HELP® to rise above the standard levels of service from other legal plans that most often fall short of enrollee expectations. Return to Top

LCG

LCG, Ltd., the exclusive provider of HELP® Legal Plan, was founded in 1995 with the singular goal of modernizing and ultimately perfecting the concept of the employee legal plan.

Historical concerns surrounding prepaid insurance legal plans revolve around the old one-size-fits-all model of providing limited coverage with costly restrictions, unpredictable attorney experience, lackluster screening requirements, and poorly trained or uneducated service. With the goal of combating these industry failings and uncertainties, the HELP® platform was born.

The evolution of HELP® as a completely unique, distinct, and robust benefit offering has irrevocably altered the legal plan landscape and revolutionized the industry. LCG, Ltd. did not invent the legal plan, but has strived to perfect it.

Headquartered in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, HELP® is the flagship offering of LCG, Ltd.
